and finish in late May. Classes are held each week on Sunday
mornings from 10:10 – 11:20
am. All

basis. Please see the calendar for
programs specific to your child.
The four strands of the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
- The Commandments and Prayer
- Creed
- Sacraments
Scripture
are interwoven to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to our children so that they begin to understand how to live the Gospel every day. The doctrines, rites, and rituals of the Church are introduced and explained throughout the year as they touch the student’s experience through liturgy, service, and parish life.
RE Texts: RE catechists* use
the Harcourt-Brace Series Walking By Faith (grades
K-6) and Living Our Faith (grades 7-8)
within the classroom as the foundation for faith education. The
Archdiocese of Washington approves the use of this textbook series.
*Catechists: A
Parish
Based Religious Education Program
A catechist, (from the Greek word “to echo”) is someone commissioned by the Parish “to
hand down” its faith tradition. Catechists are a valuable gift and resource
to the life and mission of the Parish. They volunteer their time, talents, and
love of Christ’s teachings to give witness to their students of God’s love in
their lives.
