The 2009 Holy Trinity grants program is requesting applications for projects to provide service in either of
two
categories:
- Project or program to provide direct services to the poor and disadvantaged in Washington, DC. The project must address one or more of the following needs: housing or homelessness, health, education or vocational training or mentoring, child or elder care, or criminal justice.
- Project or program whose purpose is to provide advocacy in addressing housing
or homelessness needs in Washington, DC. This is a new
category and the Grants Team anticipates recommending funding two projects in this area.
There are separate applications for each category. Applications can propose a new project or can propose to continue or add to the work of an existing project or program. The maximum grant award will be $5,000. The funding is for a one year project.
Holy Trinity annually tithes 10% of its ordinary parish collection. Through this program in 2008 Holy Trinity parishioners contributed more than $330,000 to 44
different area organizations PDF. Given the current economic conditions, Holy Trinity will undoubtedly receive more applications this year than there is funding available. Unfortunately, it is likely that not every agency that meets the funding criteria will receive a grant.
Applications are due on or before December 12,
2008. Specific instructions on completing and submitting
the grant application are included in the form. Organizations with questions
prior to the December 12, 2009 deadline, can contact the Social Justice
Grants Team at htsjgrants@hotmail.com.
