Volunteer Opportunities in Education & Faith Formation
K-12 Religious Education Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Coming Home
K-12 Religious Education

Parents and interested parishioners can play a very important role assisting the catechetical ministry of sharing the Catholic faith with our youth.  The catechists need your support and “hands on” assistance to bring a full learning environment to all of our youth.  If you are interested in supporting our catechetical programs please call the Religious Education Office to let us know of your interest.  All volunteers in the classroom interacting with children will be asked to comply with the Archdiocese of Washington’s Child Protection Policy.

If you are interested in serving as part of the catechetical team, please read through the identified needs below.  Some of these are a “one time” occurrence, some reflect an ongoing need. Some of these opportunities can be completed from home, some during the week, and there are needs that must be filled on a Sunday morning!

You can let us know of your willingness to assist by:

  • indicating your preference on the registration form,
  • signing up on a Sunday morning in the Religious Education Resource Office located in the Upper School Cafeteria, or
  • contacting the Director of Religious Education, 202-337-2840  ext. 119.
However you feel you might join in the catechetical ministry at Holy Trinity, your gifts of time, talent and witness will be a treasure.  Your prayerful support will enable our children to see faith in action and realize that we are all called to serve!

Retreat/Reflection Day Team
In order to offer days of reflection and/or retreats, a cadre of volunteers is needed.  There are a variety of needs: those who organize, help with preparation, or actually serve as retreat team members.  This ministry will evolve as the program grows.  Stay tuned.  Please indicate grade level.

Confirmation Preparation Team
These volunteers serve in many capacities during Confirmation preparation.  Some may be team members, while others will work behind the scene.

Special Talents
The Religious Education Program needs people who will assist in teaching our youth to sing, decorate shared space in liturgical themes, tape special occasions, assist with technology, and generally assist in the creative aspects of a religious education program.
