All youth, grades K through 12 are invited to participate in Holy Trinity's Religious Education program. Classes begin in mid September and finish in late May. Classes are held each week on Sunday mornings from 10:10 – 11:15 am. All children are expected to attend regularly and participate at Mass on a weekly basis.
The four strands of the Catechism of the Catholic Church...
* The Commandments and Prayer*
* Creed*
* Sacraments*
* Scripture*
...are interwoven to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to our children so that they begin to understand how to live the Gospel every day. The doctrines, rites, and rituals of the Church are introduced and explained throughout the year as they touch the student’s experience through liturgy, service, and parish life.
Service is an important focus of Holy Trinity's Religious Education Program. Students and their families are invited to participate in a variety of service opportunities throughout the year. More information and calendars can be found on our Service Opportunities page.
Students are invited to worship together, and serve as liturgical ministers at Class Masses (3rd-6th Grades) and Youth Masses (7th-12th Grades). More information and calendars can be found on our Youth Liturgical Ministries page.
Religious Education teachers are called Catechists. A Catechist, (from the Greek word “to echo”) is someone commissioned by the Parish “to hand down” its faith tradition. Catechists are a valuable gift and resource to the life and mission of the Parish. They volunteer their time, talents, and love of Christ’s teachings to give witness to their students of God’s love in their lives.
All of our catechists and volunteers are asked to comply with the Archdiocese of Washington’s Child Protection Policy.
