Finance Council

The Holy Trinity Finance Council is a group of eight parishioners remarkable for their business and financial training and experience.  They advise the pastor on matters relating to the financial affairs of the parish.  So important is the work of such councils to the well-being of the Church that finance councils are required in every parish by Canon (Church) Law.

In doing its work, the Holy Trinity Finance Council is guided, not only by Gospel values, but also by good business principles and practices. The Council has access to such financial information and records as it may need to accomplish its purposes, with the understanding that this information is given and received with due regard to confidentiality and prudence.

The Council's responsibilities include preparation of the parish's annual budget; safeguarding the financial assets of the parish, and seeing to the proper deposit of church funds in revenue-bearing accounts; making periodic reports on the financial state of the parish to the Parish Pastoral Council and parishioners in general; and developing a plan for the financing of necessary repairs and replacement of parish facilities and equipment.

Members are appointed by the pastor to three-year terms, renewable once.
