Nomination form for 2012 PPC

Application deadline: April 30.  Elections: May 12 - May 31. Questions, contact Erin McCarthy at 2012PPCelections@gmail.com.
The Holy Trinity Parish Pastoral Council is composed of the pastor and at least 15 adult members of the parish who are notable for their commitment to the parish and the larger Church. Council members are elected by parishioners to serve three-year terms, renewable once. The Council meets at least nine times each year from September through June, on the evening of the first Tuesday of the month.

We are happy to entertain questions about the council and standing for election at any time throughout the year (see committee contact details below), however, the elections process takes place in the spring and new councillors take office at the September meeting.

The Elections Process
1. Self Nomination
Self-nomination forms to stand for election should be made available to the parish at least one month prior to the submission deadline, which is normally the Friday before Palm Sunday.

Criteria for standing for election: any Roman Catholic who is at least 16 years old, a registered member of Holy Trinity Parish for at least one year, and has received the sacrament of Confirmation, is eligible for election to the Council.

All applications (self-nomination forms) received from eligible candidates will be included in the election.

There are no elections activities during Holy Week.
2. Publication of the Slate (Sample Ballot)
After Easter, a sample ballot is posted in the church and on the website for the parish to review the slate of candidates.
3. Elections
Elections take place over the course of two weekends, normally in May, but no later than the regularly scheduled June PPC meeting.

To vote in Council elections, an individual must be: a registered member of Holy Trinity Parish, and at least 16 years of age.

After elections are complete, candidates are notified and newly elected members are invited to attend the June PPC meeting.

Newly elected members take office in September of the following year, for a three-year commitment.

n.b.:
Elected members of the Council must resign membership on standing Council Committees, the Holy Trinity School Advisory Board, and the Finance Council. Individuals hired to the Parish Staff, their spouses and immediate family members, must resign membership on the Council and its Committees, the Holy Trinity School Advisory Board, and the Finance Council.
