JustFaith ENGAGING SPIRITUALITY
Do you feel overwhelmed by all the injustice, violence and misery that seem to plague our world? JustFaith Ministries has founded a new program called Engaging Spirituality which can help us to understand what we can do about these problems in the world. The Engaging Spirituality program helps us pattern our lives around prayer, outreach, community and spiritual reading, and aims to set us loose as agents of love and healing in this broken world. Engaging Spirituality is a 21 week program starting at St. Charles this September. Contact: Eli McCarthy

Lent 2011: Holy Trinity offerred the Living Solidarity Module!
The goal of this eight session popular education curriculum is to engage the question, “What kind of society do we wish to become?” It is vital that all of us engage this question by bringing our values to the many conversations about the economy and the federal budget. The budget is a moral document. The Gospel and Catholic social teaching remind us that we are responsible for both ourselves and the common good. One of the ways in which we do this is through government, taxes and the federal budget. Being informed about and engaged with these issues is part of our responsibility as residents and as people of faith.
Some of their highlights include:
“a great sense of community”
“the surprise, joy, and pride in our Catholic Social Teaching heritage among classmates”
“a peaceful place to share thoughts and diverse views”
“an increased sense of moral responsibility” and “impacted my daily life”
Fall 2010 we had 15 Holy Trinity Parishioners journey together through an 8-week module called Crossing Borders: Migration, Theology, and the Human Journey.
The eight sessions covered the following topics: The Contemporary Debate and Public Policy; History of Migration; The Bible and Migration; Foundations of Migration – Root Causes; Migration and Catholic Social Teaching; Slavery in America; The Human Face of the Migrant; Eucharist and a Theology of Migration.
